Germany
Coach: Joachim Low
Star Player: Michael Ballack (Chls)
FIFA Ranking: 5
So close to being a home fixture that the bookies have them as the favourites -this may be as much to do with the fact that they have an easy group from which to qualify, with only Croatia to give them a serious game.
Following their strong showing at the 2006 World Cup, Klinsman's deputy Joachim Low has taken over the reins and hopes his team can improve on their Euro 2004 showing where they were knocked out at the group stages -managing only two feeble draws.
Ballack should be fairly fresh, as he hasn't been overplayed at Chelsea this season and if he can add to the goals of Klose & Podolski then they can reach the semis quite easily.

Croatia
Coach: Slavin Bilic
Star Player: Niko Kranjcar (P'mth)
FIFA Ranking: 13
Surely better than their FIFA world ranking of 13 suggests -Croatia could be the surprise package of the tournament. Having showed England how to play football on that fateful night at Wembley, the Croats play with a fast-flowing passing style under the guidance of ex-West Ham man Bilic.
Packed with talent in the form of Kranjcar, Nico Kovac and new Spurs signing Luka Modric -there is no shortage of flair in the Croatian side. Could they do a 'Greece' going all the way? Maybe.
