CANTOR SPORT SPREADFAIR - Full Review

ok

Cantor Index Limited has taken the decision to close Spreadfair, its online betting exchange, to focus on its financial spread betting and CFD business.

Effective from 4pm, 1st Dec 2008, Cantor Spreadfair will cease to accept new customers and will take no further opening wagers.

The Cantor Financial Group has two sports spread betting operations, Spreadfair and Cantor Sport.
Spreadfair is the world's first spread betting exchange and was created in 2003, whereas Cantor Sport is a much more traditional spread betting operation.

Our review will concentrate on
Spreadfair -due to it being the only betting exchange of it's kind in the world. It matches bettors who hold opposing views on major sports, political and many financial markets.

Range of Bets: This is very basic, for example in the Premiership, only the season points total is available -and nothing for the rest of the league.

Events offered include: Cricket, football, golf, horse racing, olympics, tennis and political markets.

What Else Is There? They offer financial spreads on such markets as commodities, currencies, bonds, equities, indices and many popular shares. Another interesting market is short & long term UK & London house prices.

Website: Can seem confusing and appear very fast-moving to the beginner. You need to have experience of exchange betting before tackling this baby! The tutorial section is useful for novices and well worth a visit.

Although the margins are tighter than other spread firms (ie you get nearer to the price you want & can ask for prices) -you pay 3-5% commission on net profits.

Telephone Dealing: Someone will take your call 24 hours a day.

Ways To Pay: Visa, MasterCard, Solo, Switch, Maestro, Visa Electron, Bank Wire, Cheque.

Currencies: GBP, EUR

Customer Service: By telephone or , when I have spoken to them in the past, they were most unhelpful
-especially when I asked about incentives.

Incentives: Sports offer: Choice of two types of soccer bet

Once you have opened your account, just place five qualifying sports bets and once they have been settled they'll give you a bet on either:

* Football: £100 supremacy or total goals bet on any live match

Place a further 10 qualifying sports bets which go on to be settled and they'll give you a second bet on one of the same market as listed above.

Where to view prices:
You need to be online -as they are no longer on telextext.

Summary:

A hybrid of Sporting Index and Betfair -both of which are far superior.
Not for the beginner or faint-hearted, try your hand somewhere else first.
