The key to the England Totals Markets is the number of games they play. They're guaranteed at least six group games, if they reach the final, it could reach nine -which will greatly affect the totals...

Spread Betting Tips For The England Markets

As we stated in the introduction, the final totals for all of these markets depend upon how many games England in this World Cup tournament. Therefore if you don't see England getting past the quarter final stages then you will be a seller in the market -if you think that they will reach the final, you'll be a buyer.

Looking at England's draw and their recent one day form against the Aussies (where they lost the series 6-1) you would have to optimistic for them to get past the quarter-final stages, where they might have to face either Sri Lanka or the old foe Australia!

The key for England is to beat either India or South Africa in the group stages and thereby get an easier quarter-final match against New Zealand or Pakistan. If they do so, then the initial quotes will all be low

a) Tournament Wides -This could be something of a free bet, having seen the warm-up games where conditions will be similar to the actual tournament games. We think that each team will bowl at least ten wides every game -especially with the umpiring always stricter during the World Cup.
Buy @ 60

b) Strauss Runs -In his four previous World Cup matches Andrew Strauss has managed only 83 runs (with 46 of those coming in one innings against South Africa). So he will have to double his average in order to reach the spread target of 310-330. We will be waiting until after the first match against the 'mighty' Netherlands before getting involved -then we will be selling, as the next three games are against India, Ireland and South Africa.
Sell after the Netherlands game

c) Total Opening Partnerships -In the seven matches against the Aussies, England managed only one fifty partnership! This doesn't bode well for the World Cup, so yet again we will wait until they have played the Netherlands (the group's weakest team) and then sell the Total Opening Partnership.
Again, sell after the Netherlands match
